IFA NEXT Future Audio-Visual Zone

Over 20 Chinese Companies Showcase Smart Glasses on the Global Stage

The IFA NEXT Future Audio-Visual Zone, open continuously from September 5 to 9, takes smart glasses as its core exhibition focus and brings together more than 20 Chinese companies, including INMO, Geduowei Technology, Chengmu Technology (Zhuhai) Co., Ltd., Marktum, ZhongxinZhi (Hangzhou) Innovation Technology Co., Ltd., Light Particle Technology, Beijing ARKNOVV Technology, Cybersight, Weiku, and others.

The exhibiting companies collectively present AI + audio-visual convergence technologies, smart glasses hardware terminals, and scenario-based application solutions, covering categories such as consumer AR glasses and industrial inspection smart glasses. With its distinctive “Made in China” identity, the zone has attracted global buyers, industry media, and professional visitors to stop, experience, and engage in in-depth exchanges. It not only allows the international market to directly perceive the technological strength of China’s smart glasses industry, but also builds a bridge for participating companies to connect with global channels and expand overseas cooperation—making it one of the most recognizable “windows of Chinese innovation” during IFA.

NEXT Night Welcome Reception

Building a Bridge for In-Depth Sino–International Industry Collaboration

On September 6, the NEXT Night Welcome Reception was held at the GECC Center in Berlin, warmly opening a series of related events. Around 120 distinguished guests and exhibitors were invited to attend, including Dirk Koslowski, Executive Director of IFA, Wang Ning, Chairman of the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce, and other key industry figures.

The event began with opening remarks by Dirk Koslowski, who shared IFA’s vision for collaborative development between Chinese and international consumer electronics industries and spoke highly of the core value Chinese enterprises bring to the global industrial chain. Wang Ning then addressed the current state of China’s electronics industry and future directions for international cooperation, conveying a strong commitment to deeper collaboration.

This was followed by a keynote speech from Liu Ying, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce, titled “From the Greater Bay Area to the World: 2025 AIE — China’s Gateway to Global Consumer Electronics Innovation,” during which she also introduced the Global Intelligent Machinery & Electronics Expo to be held in Macau this December. SHAWN AI, representing the exhibitors, shared practical insights from its experience in the AI + audio-visual field.

Linking Chinese and German Hard Tech Innovation to Incubate Globally Landing Projects

The Significance of the Platform

The "NEXT Star Nanshan Venture Star IFA Special Competition" was held concurrently on September 8, establishing itself as a crucial platform for precise connection between Chinese and German innovation resources. Distinguished guests including Chen Linhao, Minister-Counselor for Scientific and Technological Affairs of the Chinese Embassy in Germany, representatives from the Nanshan District Innovation Development Promotion Center, IFA Executive Director Cornelia Schwobe, and Olivier Chiabodo, European Vice President of the UWA World Ultra High-Definition Video Alliance, attended the event. They all highly recognized the competition's value in promoting Sino-German technological cooperation.

From Screening to Award-Winning Projects

The competition focused on the fields of AI and hard tech, attracting nearly 120 high-quality projects from various European countries. These projects covered cutting-edge areas such as smart manufacturing, digital healthcare, autonomous driving, and industrial inspection. After multiple rounds of preliminary selections, 13 projects demonstrating both technical barriers and market potential advanced to the finals. The final awards were announced as follows: SPENTYS (AI-driven 3D-printed orthopedic braces) won the first prize; the "AI and Smart Sensor-based Health Monitoring and Lifespan Prediction Platform for Electrical Equipment" and "MindSpeaker (a revolutionary brain-computer interface device)" received the second prize; MANUGY (next-generation flexible production module for cylindrical battery cells), "Smart Eye" Optimized Detect (an efficient object detection method), and Laddroller (a transformable personal mobility device) were awarded the third prize.

Global Landing Support

Reportedly, the winning projects will be given priority access to Nanshan District's incubation resources. This includes opportunities to connect with the Nanshan Strategic Emerging Industries Investment No. 1 Competition Special Fund and the Xili Lake International Science and Education City Achievements Transformation Fund, with potential investment support of up to 5 million RMB. Additionally, they will receive customized services such as market resource对接 and technical cooperation referrals to facilitate their rapid entry into the Chinese, German, and global markets. Specifically, the first and second prize winners are scheduled to return to Shenzhen at the end of 2025 to participate in the Nanshan Venture Star Global Finals, where they will contend for a top award worth millions.
